the longest wait ever....

Today has felt like it has gone FOREVER... I hate waiting for news, and I hate it even more today because it has felt like I watched every minute and second go by.  Not being at work was not a good thing today, although Lou has kept me busy, my brain has still been ticking away and no matter how much washing, ironing, tee shirt making, washing up, sweeping and cleaning I do.... I still hate waiting today

I've been making... tees! our first fathers day

Last time I posted was a couple of weeks ago and I was very excited for our first fathers day.  I ended up making two tees with 45 records on them- one for S and one for little L so they were matching.  Little L's record label had Baby Love by the Supremes and S's had Daddy Cool by Boney M on his label- they loved them!

Anyway- that started the cogs working and since then I have been making a whole bunch of tees and onesies.  It's something I have always talked about and once I started I could not stop.... and then came the birth of King Louis Kustoms.. but I'll save that story for another day when I have more time

Things I am looking forward to....

1. Holiday in summer- shacking up
2. getting some sun on my skin- not leather handbag wrinkly and brown just kissed by the sun and full of vitamin D and all the goodness you feel during Spring before it gets so ungodly hot you wonder if the whole earth is melting not just the ice caps
3. Little L talking
4. Little L and S waking up so we can have our first fathers day celebration

things we are watching.. the white ribbon

Went to D's for wednesday night flick fest on D-Max, and we have been trying to watch this movie for weeks but had to find a time when we could spare the 144 mins to watch it and we were all there.  The White Ribbon- german movie about children in a village in northern Germany just before World War I.  Worth the wait- very long and intense but definately worth it.  According to Haneke, the film is about "the origin of every type of terrorism, be it of political or religious nature." Shot in black and white so many of the scenes could be still shots, very beautiful and gald I watched it on the little-big screen.

little L loved his tuxedo suit- pics to come soon

music of the moment.. Sigur Ros

Went to D's house the other week and while I was trying to settle L he put on a DVD of Sigur Rós.  They are an Icelandic post-rock band with melodic, classical, and minimalist elements.
The DVD was the 2007 documentary, Heima. Sigur Rós provided a series of free surprise outdoor concerts throughout Iceland in July and August, playing in various venues such as abandoned bunkers and community coffee shops, so beautiful to watch and listen to.

Bjork and Sigur Rós- I like iceland exports- especially since I have been playing Venus as a boy by Bjork non stop since little L arrived.

wish I had done this... Fathers Day

Fathers Day is coming up and since it is S's first I wanted to do something special/cool/blow his mind- but on a broke maternity leave budget.  Knowing that he never actually reads my blog I thought I would post what I have found here and see if some of you can help me. Been searching around for some ideas and here is what I have found so far:

Rad Dad T-shirt- from mooo.com.au

I also really like these twin sets from twistedtwee- in fact I love everything on this site except I don't earn british pounds anymore to buy them... sobs

Also found these tron hoodies that light up- he would either love it or look at me like I had really failed.. such risk in this one

I really wanted to do something to do with skating or music but still drawing a blank.  Saw this flyer on a skate site and thought what a travesty for S, in the US Fathers Day coincedes with Go Skating Day all over America...

what to do, what to do...
I found a site that do custom decks for under $100 but what image or text would I use to say happy Fathers From L?
