things we are watching.. the white ribbon

Went to D's for wednesday night flick fest on D-Max, and we have been trying to watch this movie for weeks but had to find a time when we could spare the 144 mins to watch it and we were all there.  The White Ribbon- german movie about children in a village in northern Germany just before World War I.  Worth the wait- very long and intense but definately worth it.  According to Haneke, the film is about "the origin of every type of terrorism, be it of political or religious nature." Shot in black and white so many of the scenes could be still shots, very beautiful and gald I watched it on the little-big screen.
